Girls’ Day - Future Prospects for Girls, 25 April 2024: Our cii Workshop is now open for registration!
(23.02.2024) This year’s nationwide Girls’ Day - Future Prospects for Girls - takes place on April 25th, 2024. We are excited to open our doors at the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB) for our cii workshop as part of the broader KIT Girls’ Day program. The workshop ‘Another cat video?! The science behind recommendations on TikTok & Co.‘ - “ Noch ein Katzenvideo?! Die Wissenschaft hinter Empfehlungen auf TikTok & Co.“ will be conducted at KIT in Karlsruhe (however, only in the German language).

The workshop introduces students to our research group and provides insights into the scientific background of recommendations on online platforms to better understand how personalized experiences, advertisements, and recommendations of videos, clothing, or music work. We show how scientific investigations can be approached and investigate the mechanisms of recommender systems. Finally, a Q&A session resolves any remaining questions regarding a scientist’s job role, our daily work, or our research interests.
